the new EU history book which will be used to teach all EU countrys except UK may have the World wars removed, this comes as the leader of the EU (german) backs perposeals to remove a 'stain' on europes record. main newspapers have accused the EU as 'looking thorugh rose tinted glasses'
only a few years ago, goverments were saying that the 'WW's' are there to remind us of how close the world came

me and all my friends have said the same thing, how can the generation after the 2nd world war even consider it. its outrageous. i think that its even worse coming from the germans (im not being racist) it just seems like a scapegoat and another attempt to remove the guilt they have (get over it)
whats the point of removing the key parts of history which has shaped the world as we know it now, i can only hope that it doent pass in the eu

to be fair DS is right but that still dient explain why you get rid of the 2 most importiant events EVER, they have no right to take away the memorys of the hundreds of thousands maybe even millions of people who died... its not human

i don't think in anyway it can be a good idea! In the different history books here in the United States (which there are many different ones, are there not many different ones in European countries?) talk about an extremely shady part in United States history, the period of time after WWII when we took Japanese/chines people and put them into camps. It was brief but it happened and we don't forget about it!
People need to know that their country is not perfect, if people think that, then they don't worry about the future. And here in the United States where people choose our leaders, we need to know that we make a difference and it just cant be the government doing everything.
